Research InterestsStatistical Methods for ordinal data; regression modelling of large data sets; statistics and technology; quality improvement Dr Jocelyn Dale MSc(Hons) Auck, PhD London, DIC, CStat Room: RG22 Phone +64 7 838 4038 Fax +64 7 838 4155 |
Jocelyn joined the University of Waikato in 1994 to lecture in Statistics after more than a decade as a consulting statistician with Applied Mathematics Division, DSIR, based principally at the Mt Albert Research Centre in Auckland, NZ. Most of this work was with DSIR researchers in horticulture and entomology, and with manufacturing companies. Her London doctorate (1983) is on methods for ordinal responses and sparse contingency tables. From 1987-1990 Jocelyn editedThe New Zealand Statistician, New Zealand's journal for professional statisticians, and from 1990-1991 served on the Auckland Area Health Board Research Ethics Committee A. In Thailand from 1991-1994, she took the opportunity to improve her management skills, using the Thai language.
