Confidence intervals for proportions, differences between proportions and related measures are often calculated by inappropriate measures, and widely used statistical software has little to offer the researcher. In this presentation I summarise some of the issues and outline suitable methods for a variety of problems in this area. A bibliography is presented for some of the published work, other parts of the material are still at a developmental stage.
