Returned Home

  • Professor William J. Reed from Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Victoria, Canada visited the Department for the first six months of 2007. During his visit he worked with Dr Murray Jorgensen.

  • Dr David Johnson from the UK returned to the Waikato for the first half of 2007. During his visit he worked with Associate Professor David Whitaker.

  • Dr David Johnson Senior Lecturer of Management Science at Loughborough University in the UK returned to the Waikato in July 2004. During his visit he worked with Professor Nye John and Associate Professor David Whitaker before returning home late November.

  • Associate Professor Ken Russell visited the Department from 2nd December 2003 through to 30th January 2004 to continue his work with Professor J.A John.

  • Emlyn Williams from CSIRO, Australia visited the department during January 2003 and during this time worked with Professor J.A John and Associate Professor David Whitaker.

  • Ken Russell Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Woollongong, Australia returned to the Department for a visit from 4th to 31st January 2002. During his stay Ken worked again with Professor J.A John.

  • Professor Pierre Legendre from the Biological Sciences Department at the University of Montreal jointly visited the Department and NIWA for three months from January 2001.

  • Dr David Johnson Senior Lecturer of Management Science at Loughborough University in the UK visited again from July 2000 until late September when he was required to return home for the beginning of a new semester at Loughborough.

  • Dr Dan Coster who is Associate Head of Department for the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Utah State University visited the Department for the first six months of 2000. We understand he may visit NZ briefly again in New Year 2001 and we look forward to meeting again.

  • Ken Russell Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Woollongong, Australia visited the Department for approximately six weeks, from 2nd January until 13 February 2000. During his stay Ken worked with Professor J.A John.

  • Dr David Johnson Senior Lecturer of Management Science at Loughborough University in the UK, spent approximately six months at the University of Waikato in the early part of 1999 working with Mr David Whitaker. Following his return home, David continues to work with both Mr David Whitaker and Professor J A John on preparation of a book for publication.

  • Hans Hockey, statistics graduate and former biometrician at Ruakura visited the Department from November 1997 until the end of April 1998. He is a statistical consultant who does work for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in the UK and collaborates with researchers from the Natural Resources Institute (NRI) who are interested in participatory research in developing countries.

    During his stay he worked with Ray Littler in the Waikato Centre for Applied Statistics.
